That’s why Art Spoon goes beyond just being a portfolio tool. We are committed to creating real, ongoing programs that open up new opportunities and help artists move forward in their journey.
Recently, we selected artists through a competition to offer them the chance to exhibit at the upcoming 2025 PLAS(Plastic Art Seoul) Fair. However, we also heard from many artists overseas who were eager to join, but couldn’t because of geographical limitations.
So this time, we’re doing things differently.
We’ve created a competition that’s open to everyone, regardless of location— with prize money included, to give tangible support for your practice.
That’s why we’re excited to introduce the 1st Art Spoon Global Emerging Artist Competition.
The 1st Art Spoon Global Emerging Artist Competition
This competition is part of the exclusive benefits for artists on the Art Spoon Pro Plan and is open to anyone aged 15 or older, regardless of nationality.
Eligible media include painting, illustration, and drawing (excluding digital painting and AI-generated works). A total of 5 artists will be selected through a professional review process.
The selected artists will receive public exposure across Art Spoon’s official social media, newsletter, and blog, and will also be prioritized for future offline exhibition opportunities.
Eligibility
- Open to artists worldwide, aged 15 and above
- Accepted media: Painting, drawing, and illustration (No digital painting or AI-generated work)
- Required: At least 10 artworks uploaded and publicly visible on your Art Spoon website
- Optional: Completion of the Art Spoon Playbook mission
Competition Timeline
- Application Period: May 2 (Mon) – July 2 (Mon), 2025
- Winners Announced: July 10 (Thu), 2025
Awards
- 1st Prize: USD 500
- 2nd Prize: USD 200
- 3rd Prize: USD 100 × 3 artists
All winning works will be promoted via Art Spoon’s official social channels (SNS, newsletter, blog) and will receive top‑priority invitations to the next offline exhibition open call.
Important Notes
- Artists may submit 1 to 2 works
- Winners must provide high-resolution images of their selected works
- Plagiarized or AI-generated works will be disqualified
- Prizes are paid via PayPal or bank transfer (fees/taxes deducted as required)
